Renting your home! Know your RIGHTS!

Around 30% of all Queenslanders rent their home. In Queensland renting is a permanent form of housing tenure for an increasing number of people. However many of the problems that tenants face can be too big for one individual to tackle alone.

The Tenants' Union is committed to addressing the inequities that affect tenants in the rental market. Tenants can contact the Tenants Union for free advice and information about tenancy issues. You can also become a member of the Tenants' Union and add your voice to the call for better tenancy laws and a fair go for tenants.

The aims of the Tenants' Union of Queensland are:

  • To improve conditions for residential tenants;
  • To enhance and protect the rights of residential tenants;
  • To organise about common issues affecting tenants;
  • To educate the community about tenancy law and tenant rights.
